I usually don’t have any new year’s resolutions. This year, however, I’ll join the crowd of people who want to change something in their life. So, here it comes: in 2019 I, Eva, would love to make even more things at home. Making things from scratch is awesome and I grew up with some like homemade jams (I never tried a store bought jam until I was 14), fresh pasta and pickled vegetables. Besides the ones I know it would be really great to get my hands on things that are totally new to me. Those will include making my own cheese, my own yogurt, and so forth.
Actually, while I’m writing this a bowl of young yogurt is incubating in our oven. So, I’M ALREADY MAKING YOGURT, AHHHHHH!!!! I just have to wait about 6 more hours to try it. I’m really excited! This is my first batch and I so hope it’ll work. Have you guys ever done something like this? If so, you just have to send me a message (Instagram, email, …) as soon as you read this to tell me about your experience. I would love to hear everything about it: what did you make, which ingredients did you use, was it as good as you imagined it?
I really would love to share this journey and so I’ll share some of my favorite tools and other things I’m really interested in with you today. Let’s run (don’t walk, run!!!) to the oven and get this making-a-tasty-mess-party started. See you in the kitchen, kids!
PS: There are tons of fantastic books and recipes online for making pasta, jams and all of the things I’ve mentioned above. My peach jam is a great one and I’m planning on sharing a recipe for pickling veggies and one for making homemade pasta with you this year. However, if you have a hard time finding anything suitable let me know and we’ll find something together! A lot of great people created wonderful recipes for us to try.
